Past Wight is the Archaeological and Heritage Consultancy run by Dr Ruth Waller, an archaeologist with 31 years of professional experience, including 12 years as the Isle of Wight County Archaeologist.
Ruth has in depth knowledge of the Island's historic environment and many years of direct experience of development control and landscape management.
After gaining her first degree in Archaeology in 1985, Ruth was awarded her Phd in Archaeology from the University of Bournemouth in 2008 for a thesis on the effectiveness of archaeological evaluation techniques in the local government planning process.
Ruth has excavated many sites of all periods in Britain, Germany and Malta and is a trained community archaeologist with experience of delivering talks, walks, lectures and community excavations and other fieldwork.
